Good afternoon. We realise it's been a while, so we though we'd update you on the bubububububu-BRICK!

So what's happening? Well, I (Jack, the tall one, silly curly hair. Stupid camo PRS guitar? Yeah?) have been attempting to master some demos from Former Miss Czechoslovakia. There were supposed to be up months ago but I'm having computer issues ie I haven't got one nor the money to buy one. Luke blew his bass amp up, so we had to scrounge for our last couple of gigs, which we did most of the time anyway so it doesn't really make a soddin' difference. Anthony cut his hair off. And smashed his crash to smithereens, and hasn't bought a new one yet.

We've got lots of bits of songs. Ones that have stuck with us over the year. So they're tried and tested as far as we're concerned. And they're fucking good.

Luke's back at Uni, so he'll be getting bored soon and want to procrastinate his assignments. My work's getting lighter and better so that's good. And Anthony has also started Uni but he probably doesn't realise it so no difference there.

With a few tube replacements, a bass amp investment and a crash, we'll be back. We love King Brick and we want you to do too. We miss playing live and making Ben Marshall's ears bleed.

So no fear folks, we're coming back!

We've been quiet recently...

I (Jack) have been gigging a fair bit with a band of new folks called Former Miss Czechoslovakia. It's been fun and there's some really nice music coming out from there. But fear not folks, my heart will always be with Brick (L).

We've had a few rehearsals here and there- making sure we don't rust-up too bad. We're working on a new song from Luke and it's sounding fucking awesome. The rest of us are waiting on his lyrics though :P

Plans are for gigs and recordings for the summer. I missed summer last year thanks to a personal incident, so I'm up for making the most out of 2010. Now the days are getting longer, brighter and warmer I can venture into the garage and set some recordings up.

Plans for new songs are ripe also. I've got some lyrics and a lot of inspiration from playing with Czech. When work and real-life issues calm a bit I'll ramp it up to the max.

But yeah, we're still here folks- we ain't going anywhere and we're as loud as fuck.

So, we're gonna do a gig next week. It's gonna be at The Shed and it'll be damn good to be back :)

The Shed in Leicester is hosting live music from Eye For An Eye plus many other rock acts. We love these guys, and we're sure you will too.

Our set-list looks a little like this - we're gonna include fan favourites "Friend or Foe" and "Confused" as well as "Romeo" like you've never heard it before. We playing a firm favourite of ours "Seven Questions" for the first time at The Shed and gigging new songs "Hand-brake turn" and "Change the record".

We're also performing for the second time with a legendary Jazz trumpeter. The first legend had to be put down because he lost his air playing his first set. Don't smoke kids.

Gig at The Sumo, November 12 2009

Hi guys

We're no where near organized, but we do have a big come back gig coming up. This isn't it, but this is going to be a frankly amazing night out. The Sumo is amazing, we've posted about it before, and we're delighted to be back, not just because they do good beer.

Personally, I'm showcasing my new gear, and I can't wait to see how hot I look in the photos.

It's a standard drill, fiver with the flyer (attached).

We hope to see you guys down there, just because it's nice to get out and socialize every now and then. We don't do it often because we're sad recluses, and quite frankly we don't like peoples company. For for Thursday though, we'll make an exception :)

We've never played the Sumo before, it's a wicked venue and the stage was far too big. We loved it. It's amazing to get back on a stage again. As i type we're negotiating dates for November. In October we're going over new songs and rehearsing. Also got a few holidays too but we're not slacking, promise. As far as demos go I've bricked my pc so until i get a new one that's not going down too soon. Sorry guys! More info on the gig can be read on my personal blog. Hey guys, we're back! So on the MySpace music page we've put up a show date and a demo teaser. We've secured a gig at the Sumo bar in Leicester. Details are below this post. I'll be honest for once - I'm shitting it. We're not very rehearsed as I write, but hopefully over the weekend we can secure our performance. We're gonna rock this shit! It's a new direction for brick with very few old songs. We've taken a range of influences from many many bands. Anyway, here's the low-down. Cheers.

Okay, lets face it, we haven't released anything yet. For the people reading at this moment in time (we assume this isn't many at the moment) you'll have read this from our twitter. I'm not ashamed to admit that I fail at deadlines. Also we're not a band we're a robot built from old Ford Mondeo scraps (pre-2003 models). That's why our music sounds quite edgy. Right, all of this is done - "Seven Questions" (the demo), the website, the online promo and flyer plus the gig is confirmed. We were going to tell you, but our mechanics led us to believe that people wouldn't be ready. We kidnapped Mistic Meg but she led us to believe there would be a small chance you'd be fine with it, so we killed her. The reason we are trying to sync these launches (demos, gigs and online stuff) is to make a bigger impact. Simple marketing principles. King Brick has a National Diploma in Advanced Marketing. Fact. So sit tight. We've not forgotten, we're just fucking lazy. Peace out x

Hi folks, It's happening - we've got our demos more or less down. It's all down to the last few tweaks of the mix. As I write we're planning gigs to make your nights out rock like a quarry. I can more or less officially announce the release of our new demo called "Seven Questions". We'll have it out for you on August 24th. Plans for 2009

We've been really quiet, and for all you know we could be dead. Or, we could be building a massive machine capable of taking over the world. Either way, we've got plans, little ones. We've rammed out a shed load of lyrics, music and melodies and we're gonna turn these into songs then a setlist then an EP. We'll spend the summer rehearsing and planning gigs around Leicester, and then by the tail end of the year we'll be in full swing. For the moment I'm concentrating on getting these sheds of content and ripping some demos from them. We'll probably be putting these out, but they're gonna be rough. We've got one mic and a really shit drum kit. You get the idea. So for now, here me say this: we're not dead! The Brick are coming back and we're gonna be tougher than ever! Cheers for reading x

Check the gig pages and get your flyers - next Friday sees the Brick in Leicester again.

It's a standard drill so flyers are to be shown at the door. Price should be around a fiver. It's a Friday so you don't have to worry about hangovers.

We look forward to the new year and await tonnes of changes for King Brick. New songs and a completley different style are creeping over the horizon. Keep tuning in kids.

The next King Brick gig is a Monday night on the 8th of December. It is to be part of The Shed's metal and rock night, featuring a range of other up and coming bands. Flyers are required to get in at the cheaper price of £4 and can be found from our website or myspace. It's gonna be fun and loud and we look forward to seeing you there. It should be a wicked night, and we'll be finished for half-nine and then heading down to the Highcross (the pub!) - so tag along people and we can all get pissed. See ya'll there!

DemonFM + Shed gig

Sunday sees us performing "Friend or Foe" and "Alcohol: The Perfect Cure" in an acoustic set for DemonFM. Despite what you may think, we're very well rehearsed this time. Today's rehearsal went really well. Anthony is practising his rudiments and Luke is going over his modes as I type these very words. Monday brings us a very secretive gig at The Shed. We've kept this under wraps for a while now, building and preparing for the gig of the year behind the scenes. All this while you thought we were just being lazy? Shame on you! Phew! What a night. Playing at the Charlotte again truly rocked. The turnout and the support was amazing. Thanks to everyone that came. As it was our first gig in a while, we didn't know what to expect. But now we do, so get ready for more good stuff on it's way. I've done the website. There's nothing on it. Not a thing. The myspace has some old crap tunes on it, and picasa has some photos from earlier this year. You can probably make out from the wealth of photos that we look so hot and stylish people didn't believe we were from Leicester :O Quick update, we sound good. We're doing what I didn't want to do, and revamped a few old tunes. I wouldn't have done it if they didn't sound so freaking good. The set-list is virtually finalised, and when we get back after the summer holidays, we'll get some gigs going again. I personally can't wait. News just in, the penguin song is out. I'm so very sorry. It's not up for an argument. I might put it back if people give me enough money ;) Inabit x

Hi, we're back. We've got together a new set-list, and a more metallic sound. We're out to make everyone dance, so get you, get your mates, both of em, and watch this space. Get ready for our next gig. It's gonna be stupid cool. I've built a website and done some graphics and stuff for the others. It's an extremely pointless exercise, as we haven't got anything to promote yet. We will do though, and when we do, you'll know about it. You'll want to! ;P Laters x
